Awards Season!

With the awards season around, a lot of studios are dishing out 'Making of' and VFX reels on their contending films. Of the films that I worked on last year, two are have been making news at Visual Effects Society (VES) and Annie Awards (CGI equivalent of the Oscars) - Rango and Transformers : Dark of the Moon. Rango picked up four awards at the VES and five at the Annie Awards! Am so bloody proud! We still have the Oscars to go and am keeping my fingers crossed.

The awards Rango picked up so far -

VES -
Outstanding Visual Effects in an Animated Feature Motion Picture
Outstanding Animated Character in an Animated Feature Motion Picture
Outstanding Created Environment in an Animated Feature Motion Picture
Outstanding Virtual Cinematography in an Animated Feature Motion Picture

Annie Awards -
Best Animated Feature
Best Character Design in a Feature
Best Writing in a Feature film production
Best Editing in a Feature film Production
Member's Favourite Award

Transformers: Dark of the Moon -

VES -
Outstanding Created Environment in a Live Action Feature Motion Picture
Outstanding Models in a Feature Motion Picture

Annie Awards -
Animated Effects in a live action production

Something that no film studio has ever done, Paramount pictures and Michael Bay released a video titled "recognize the artists" for Transformers: Dark of the Moon as a hat tip to all the VFX, Editing and Sound designers who worked on the film.

Also, here the Oscar VFX Reel for Transformers: Dark of the Moon. So proud to see my shots in this reel.
